What does your role entail? 

As the Secondary Phase Lead at Harris ITE, I have responsibility for overseeing the secondary training provision, leading the secondary tutor team and supporting the Head of ITE, Shona Findlay. As a Professional Tutor, I also get to look after a group of secondary trainees while on placement in their academies and to train and liaise with mentors and Managing Mentors to support and develop them in their roles.

What are your credentials/experience to your current position? 

I have worked in education in a variety of roles for 15 years. Prior to joining the HITE team, I was an Assistant Principal and Advanced Skills Teacher (AST) in one of our Harris Academies in South London, Harris Greenwich, and prior to that I worked as a Design and Technology teacher in South London schools. I thoroughly loved each role.

What is the highlight of your role? 

One of the highlights I experience in my job is when visiting our academies and seeing so many of our Alumni in mentoring, middle and senior teaching and leader roles. I am humbled to have been a part of their development and am excited to continue in this role.
