2017/18 School Direct Graduation
In the wonderful setting of St Margaret’s Church at Westminster Abbey, our 2017/18 Harris School Direct cohort graduated in fine style. With a warm welcome from Sir Dan Moynihan, guests were then treated to a musical interlude by talented performers from Harris Westminster Sixth Form and Harris Academy Bermondsey.
Maths NQT and Researcher in School, Dr Niccolo Salvatori and Primary NQT Nikita Lewis, both spoke warmly and sincerely about their experiences as trainees, striking just the right note with the audience of fellow NQTs, ITE tutors, managing mentors, principals, friends and family . In closing the evening, Executive Principal, David Astin, reminded the former trainees, now NQTs, about the importance of teaching and the impact that they are having on the children and young people they teach.
Afterwards, at the reception at HWSF, it was lovely to meet the friends and family that have supported the new teachers during their training year and toast their success.
