Harris ITE Training Centre Launch

Harris ITE Training Centre Launch

On Tuesday 10th July, we were honoured to officially open our ITE Training Centre at Harris Bermondsey.  Our bespoke facility, where we provide the training for our current cohort of 160 trainees, was officially opened by Lord Harris in a ribbon cutting ceremony and signifies our move from Harris Westminster to our current Training Centre at Harris Academy Bermondsey.

Lord Harris and Sir Dan Moynihan welcomed trainees, past and present; managing mentors; Principals and other distinguished guests with speeches highlighting the successes of the ITE Team and the expansion of our ITE provision from just 30 trainees five years ago to 160 trainees this year.  Our Ofsted rated ‘Outstanding’ provision has grown from strength to strength and the opening of the new Training Centre will allow the Harris ITE provision to grow and develop further over the coming years.  Previous and current trainees spoke to the guests about the quality of provision and detailed how the training provided them with the best possible start in their teaching careers.

Rachael Harding, Head of ITE, thanked Harris Academy Bermondsey for strengthening our partnership, being accommodating neighbours and allowing our trainees to participate in training in a working school, which enriches the training experience.
