NQT and Transition Lead

When will you see Amanda?

Amanda is one of the ITE tutors and the NQT and Transition Lead. She observes trainees in placement schools and will be at your Summer School induction.


As an experienced teacher in both primary and secondary phases, Amanda has had a breadth of experience. She has taught a range of subjects in both primary and secondary contexts and has been the Teacher in Charge of a Speech, Language, Communication Needs Resource Base. As a senior leader in school, she had responsibility for Key Stage 3, Safeguarding, Primary Liaison and new teacher induction.


Training Experience

Through her experience as the former lead for the Harris Academy Chafford Hundred Teaching School, Amanda had extensive experience in leading training and development. She has designed and led mentoring programmes for School Direct, PGCE and NQTs. As part of her current role, Amanda has coached mentors across the Federation and in a range of contexts with a view to increase capacity for school-based mentoring. She brings a key insight and wider perspective regarding the role of all stakeholders involved in Initial Teacher Education. She is also a Home Office accredited WRAP trainer for the Prevent programme. Amanda leads on the NQT induction.
