What does your role entail? 

My current role as a primary and secondary tutor enables me to support trainee teachers who are working with 4-year-olds up to 18-year-olds. This gives me a wide understanding of how children develop and grow, as well as recognising the aspects of learning and teaching that are the same, whatever the age!  

What are your credentials/experience to your current position? 

I am now working with my third cohort of trainees and, prior to this role, worked extensively with trainee and newly qualified teachers within the cluster of schools where I worked. I have a coaching qualification and bring this solution-focused approach to my conversations with trainees and mentors.  

What is the highlight of your role? 

I love enabling trainees to reflect on their teaching, the good bits and the areas for development. We are all in the role to empower children and if I can help trainees do this even better, then it’s been a great day!
