ITE School Direct and Wellbeing Officer
What is your current role and what does it entail?
As ITE’s School Direct and Wellbeing Officer, I am guaranteed that no two days are the same. My role is wide-reaching and encompasses everything from admin of the School Direct programme to ensuring trainees’ wellbeing is priority. Some days can be spent sending emails and printing labels and others will be spent lending an ear and ensuring our trainees are given the best possible support for them to have a successful training year.
What are your credentials/experience to your current position?
Originally from County Durham, I moved to London in the 1980s and worked for many years in the City in various roles, predominantly as a PA. I joined the Federation in 2006 when I became the Admissions Officer at Harris Academy Bermondsey. I became the Office Manager, then Events Manager, at Bermondsey before leaving last summer. The opportunity to re-join the Federation was too hard to resist and I joined ITE in March 2021.
What is the highlight of your role?
Thursdays! I look forward to seeing our trainees come in each week and can see how they are growing into phenomenal, Harris trained teachers.
