What does your role entail? 

My current role involves working with trainee teachers on a daily basis and supporting them with all aspects of the course throughout their training year. This ranges from in situ support in the various placement academies to delivering training content and advising and tutoring them on the PGCE-element of our provision. 

What are your credentials/experience to your current position? 

I completed my PGCE in 2009 at the University of Cambridge. I hold a Master’s degree in Science Education, having specialised in the use of technology in the classroom. I am currently studying for a PhD in Initial Teacher Education curricula at KCL. 

What is the highlight of your role? 

Working in so many academies across London and with so many people is definitely one of the things I enjoy the most. There is a strong sense of purpose and a palpable realisation that you can strive to make a clear difference to many students’ lives. Seeing so many of our past trainees remaining in their academies and being promoted to positions of high responsibility (or continuing their career as very effective practitioners) is something which makes me extremely happy every time I visit one of our placement schools.
